LaunchVault Field Guide
A Client Acquisition Template for Independent Consultants
A client acquisition system does not need a complicated stack. It needs a clear offer, a thoughtful way to identify fit, useful conversations, and a pipeline that makes follow-through visible.
In this guide
- 1. Build the system around one clear fit
- 2. Use a simple working worksheet
- 3. Connect outreach, calls, and follow-up
- 4. Review the process each week
The five parts of a useful acquisition system
The goal is not to automate every interaction. It is to make deliberate work repeatable: know whom you serve, research with care, communicate accurately, and record what should happen next.
1. Define the fit
Name one buyer, the business problem you can address, and the evidence that makes a company worth researching.
2. Build context
Record a truthful trigger or relevance signal before you write to anyone. Skip records that need guesswork to justify.
3. Start a conversation
Use a concise message with observed context, a practical point of view, and one low-pressure next step.
4. Diagnose before proposing
Use a discovery call to clarify the current approach, impact, decision path, and whether your work is genuinely useful.
5. Maintain next actions
Keep every active opportunity in one pipeline with a clear stage, owner, date, and next action.

Use these prompts to create a working version of your system. The example is illustrative; replace it with language that is true for your own consulting practice.
| Field | Prompt | Illustrative example |
|---|---|---|
| Best-fit buyer | Who has the problem and can sponsor a solution? | Operations leader at a growing B2B firm |
| Business problem | What recurring friction can you credibly help address? | Inconsistent handoff between sales and delivery |
| Working offer | What is the focused engagement you can explain clearly? | A process review and practical handoff plan |
| Relevance signal | What public context makes outreach appropriate? | New service line, hiring, or stated delivery challenge |
| Next step | What small action advances a qualified conversation? | Ask whether a short diagnostic call would be useful |
A weekly review that keeps the system honest
- Can I explain who the offer is for without listing every type of client?
- Does every researched company have a specific, accurate relevance note?
- Does the opening message make sense even if the recipient never buys?
- Does every active lead have a documented next action and date?
- Have I removed stalled records or clearly marked why they are paused?
If the answer is no, improve one part of the system rather than adding another tool. A smaller process you can keep current is more useful than a larger one that obscures what needs attention.

Turn the framework into an operating system
The AI Client Acquisition OS includes an implementation guide, ICP and offer worksheet, editable outreach sequences, a discovery-call framework, a pipeline CSV, follow-up templates, and a 30-day action plan. It is a template-backed workflow, not a lead database or a promise of results.
Continue with the 30-day client acquisition plan, B2B lead-generation workflow, discovery-call framework, pipeline tracker, or consultant sales-pipeline template.
